How to Reset Forgotten Windows 7 / 8 / 10 Password Without Any Software or Login Into Anyone's Computer

Did you forget your Windows user account password? Do you need to get into your child's (or an employee's) computer for whatever reason? If so, there is an easy way to do it. Here I will try to make an easy to follow tutorial that will be useful for novice users as well as professionals to reset forgotten Windows password without using any third-party software.

Requirements :

                                                           OR 
Step 1 :  Insert the Windows 8 Recovery Drive into your Computer and boot the computer from it, and after that you'll see the Troubleshoot menu and click on Advanced options.




Note : If you want to reset in windows 7 then click on Repair Your Computer.




Step 2 : Now click on the Command Prompt options.



Note : If you are using windows 7 then it will show like this :



Step 3 : Now in opened window you are in the directory X:\Sources. Now you have to go in the directory X: \ Windows \ System32. For that type the following command one by one as shown Below :

                      1.    x:
                      2.    cd Windows
                      3.    cd System32
                      4.    diskpart
                      5.    list vol


Step 4 : Now you will see a list of disk partition from which you can easily find out your windows installation partition. In our case windows drive D letter is my installation disk. Then type exit command.

Step 5 : Now Type the following command in command prompt one by one..

                     1.     d:
                     2.     cd windows
                     3.     cd system32
                     4.     ren Utilman.exe  Utilman.exe.bak
                     5.     copy cmd.exe  Utilman.exe


This command will replace your Utilman.exe (Ease Of Access) with command prompt (cmd.exe).

Step 6 : Now remove your windows installation disk and reboot the system.

Step 7 : Now once booted the computer you will see the login screen click on the Ease Of Access at the bottom left corner as show below :


Step 8 : Now type the following command in opened command prompt

              net user top-password.com 123456
              
                         where replace top-password.com with your pc username / user account and replace 123456 with your new password.


Note : If your account name like top  password.com means if it will contain space in your account name then add underscore ( _ ) in username replace with space like top_password.com


Step 8 : Now You are done just input your password which you are replace with. In out example password is 123456. You have successfully reset your windows password.
